“Men are from Mars and women are from Paris—they’re not interested in the same things,” says Weezie, president of Adventures and Cultures travel agency. “It’s just easier to take women because they have a common interest in what they want to do,” she says. What started as a mother-daughter habit has become Just Ladies Traveling, a component of her business that sponsors about two women-only trips per year. The group recently completed a six-night trip to Rome and has a fall hiking adventure planned for the Italian Riviera. The former geography teacher says what she enjoys most is the education and creativity that goes into planning a trip, something she’s been doing for almost 30 years. “If you do it right, it is teaching. I didn’t realize I was selling at first; I was just teaching people about places.”
