Danny Mackey is the ultimate baseball fan.

By day he’s director of student activities at Greensboro College, where he graduated in 2003. But come April, Danny dusts off his pickle hat and giant sunglasses and takes the field as on-field host/crowd motivator for the Greensboro Grasshoppers, a job he’s held for five years. He started his career as an intern for the Hudson Valley Renegades in New York, where an announcer gave him the nickname “Spaz.” He’s been a fan of minor league baseball since he was a kid, traveling New York to watch games with his dad. Now he hopes to attract a new generation of fans to the game. “I just love being able to make people laugh and smile,” Danny says. “They’re coming here to have a good time, and we can’t control the score or the game, but we can at least control the atmosphere. If they’re laughing, I’m doing a great job.”

What do you like about reading skirt!? Skirt of the Month. I’m all about the Skirt of the Month, though I prefer denim skirts.

What do you like about wearing a skirt? I think skirts get a bad rap. I think men should be able to wear skirts. It’s a clothing stereotype.
