


Yesterday I was unexpectedly home with a sick toddler, and while he napped, I decided to do something I hadn’t done in a while -- exercise. A 20-minute circuit training routine, some light weights, some squats, some lunges, nothing too taxing.
My body hasn’t yet forgiven me. In all honesty, I haven’t exercised in more than two years, and when I woke up this morning, I could tell. Muscles I didn’t know I had ached. The flight of stairs to my office seemed impossibly tall this morning.
The good news is, I’m ready to try again, mainly because of something I heard on Oprah yesterday. The theme of the show was body makeovers, and trainer Bob Greene said something like, “If you don’t exercise then you have to eat perfectly, and who wants to do that?” I know I don’t. So here’s to keeping the lunges (and lunches) coming.

I've been exercising on purpose for 4 days now, and my body is mad at me. I'll gladly be your support if you'll be mine! :)
