Beth is the voice behind Quaintance-Weaver’s Proximity Hotel, one of the most environmentally friendly hotels in the country. As an account executive, she’s in charge of corporate sales, but she also helps educate visitors about the hotel’s many green features, a message she’s felt passionately about since taking a Simple Living class at UNCG, eventually receiving a masters in environmental studies. “I decided to work here because I believe in the company’s ideals and they match up with mine. That was something I was searching for.” From the fly ash in the concrete walls to the restored creek that meanders the property to the solar panels on the roof, Proximity strives to be as green as possible, a goal Beth hopes to inspire in others. “I encourage other people to do what they can and not feel like they have to do everything. Each thing that you can do helps!”
