What started as a frugal way of building a “grandma nursery” has blossomed into a full-blown business for Shari and daughter Chrissy, a Web designer by trade. ConsignmentMommies.com now boasts more than 750 sales nationwide, but its founders are just happy the site gives them a chance to spend more time together.

Shari: “The person that she’s turned out to be has been far above what I could ever imagine a daughter being. I’ve often told my husband, if I could be like anybody, I’d love to be like my daughter.”

Chrissy: “I think my mom has really empowered me. She’s had a big influence on my life, and she definitely is my best friend, the first person I call when anything’s going on.”
